Under Floor Heating
This system of heating is located under the floor covering the whole floor area of the room. The heat is generated from the ground upwards warming the entire room. This offers a more energy efficient way of heating because the under floor system runs at a lower temperature to maintain whole room warmth as opposed to a traditional radiator or storage heater that is wall mounted in one part of the room and has to be running at a higher temperature to heat the whole room adequately. There are two types of under floor heating, Wet and Dry.
Wet uses pipes that carry heated water. This system can be run from solar power, ground source or air source heat pumps or from gas/oil/solid fuel systems.
Dry uses matting instead of pipes. This system can be run from solar electricity or your traditional electricity supply. This is an ideal solution if your only energy available is electricity or you want to convert from storage heaters.

Liquid Screed
This is effectively used with under floor heating because it is a better heat conductor than concrete. It is self levelling, environmentally friendly as it contains no cement or additives and it can also be used for screeding floors in conservatories extensions etc.
